Highland meadows of wild flowers carpet the upper reaches of the Montagne Noire National Park in spring and summer - minutes from the gite.
Wild daffodils and narcissus, gentians, swallow-tail butterflies ..... The mountains attract buzzards and smaller hawks, with peregrine falcons nesting on the sheer sides of the gorges running through the terrain. You will also have a chance to see eagles and vultures catching the thermals to lift them high in the sky.
